| I miss the Walker I girls. Here's a shout-out to the sister hall, and a prayer that the Lord finds you well.

| So, it's been a little bit. I suppose I can make a slightly more
serious post than last times, though it wasn't my fault someone asked
for an update. Anyway, life's been the usual. I took the
week my brother had Spring Break off from work, and it ended up being a
week full of WoW, Books, and DnD. We've been playing DnD fairly
regularly recently, and have a decent sized group of players, though
some come and go, though that was to be expected and was planned for in
the creation of the campaign. As for Wow, I've more or less
switched entirely to Hyjal, on which I'm a Human Mage specializing in
Arcane Magic. At the moment, I'm level 39, and have been for a
few weeks, and waiting on a few friends to catch up so that we can
seriously pwn in Warsong. Actually, we already do, and the Horde
hates me. They probably also hate my brother, who is a Rogue
Engineer with Goblin Rocket Boots, a Mechanical Dragon, and an endless
supply of grenades. Sadly, I'm still working on breaking 4000
mana without my arcane intellect...
I still find it terribly tempting to kill all Horde on sight- actually,
I would if it would let me, and I still Frost Nova in passing. To
assuage the pain of not killing Horde, I instead took it out on Sun
Rock Retreat, whose residents were massacred the other night, by one
lonely Mage who wanted to vent some steam and kill some Horde.

| So, it's been about a month since my last update. Not a lot has
happened in that time, mostly the same old. I replaced my sound
card and reinstalled Windows on my computer again (for the
fifty-millionth time this year). The install seems to be working
correctly this time, but I'm afraid to find out what is wrong with
it. Last time it wouldn't play video, though it would play flash,
so YouTube worked fine, but no avi, mpg, wmv, mkv, ogg, or
anything. The only program that I could get to not crash the
system was Quicktime, which would play the sound and not attempt to
play video files. And when I say only program, I mean only
program, vlc was crashing my computer. Anyway, that seems to be
fixed.
Hmm... I switched servers and started a character on Hyjal in
World of Warcraft. I've realized something playing on Hyjal, PvE
is not PvP. It helps to note that until making this switch about
three to four weeks ago, I was playing on Dethecus, a realm notorious
(though I only realized how notorious recently) for being the one, true
World of Warcraft PvP server. It tells you something when my
first reaction on seeing a Horde member is hover over Polymorph or hit
Frost Nova, depending on the distance. I also had become so used
to seeing the Horde everywhere, that I found it odd there weren't any
level 60s wandering around Elwynn Forest beating on the lowbies or
rushing the gates of Stormwind. When I informed my brother of
Dethecus' notoriety, his thoughts, much akin to mine, were, "Well, that
explains a lot, like why I would find myself hiding from thirty-odd
Horde in Duskwood, and they would still find me and kill me. And
why you would wander into Darkshire to find them on the roofs shooting
at players." It also explains our uncontrollable urge to nuke any
Horde we find in Hyjal, but sadly, we can't touch them if they don't
want us to... Or, how about my first trip to Tanaris, when all of
Gadgetzan was a warzone, and there were no NPCs cause they were killed
in the crossfire. That was an interesting trip, especially since
I only wanted Artisan Cooking.
Anyway, it makes wandering through the Barrens, and running Wailing
Caverns for that matter, far less exciting, I think I might just
run to Mulgore or Durotar for the heck of it, I mean, who's going to
stop me?
I'm thinking of starting a new character on Dethecus after I play
around on Hyjal enough to get to the end game. So, maybe in
another month or two. | | |
| I had an exceptional day. So, let's recap. I got up early
(a bit unusual, but well worth it on a day like today), and went
shopping. First I stopped by Greene's and got some Stella and Newcastle, oh, and a Chardonnay (because I couldn't find the Gewürztraminer). Then, I went to Wal-Mart and got a few groceries, some soap, shampoo, conditioner, motor oil, etc. and managed to forget the laundry detergent and deodorant. I dropped that off at the house and then flew down Broad River to Dutch Square. I stopped in Waldenbooks
for their closing sale, and was disappointed to not see Jessica
working. I wonder if she's already left... I bought several
books and paid six dollars. Then I went by EB Games and got a few PS2 games (Suikoden Tactics and Gauntlet: Dark Legacy), since all I have is FFXII. I also got UT2004 (for like five dollars) and Burning Crusade (yeah, I gave in to the overwhelming urge). Then I stopped by the Wachovia
outside, and said hello to a few friends there while making a deposit
(I was disappointed at how few of my friends were there, but it was a
Tuesday morning...). After that I went to school for lunch with
my mother and brother and whoever else dropped by. I took Janie's
advice and had granola with yogurt and fruit, which was an excellent
idea that would not have occurred to me at the school cafeteria.
I then went and hung out with my brother in IT and chatted about computers, and World of Warcraft, and numerous geeky
things with the members of the department. Eventually, they
actually had to do work, so I left them to be and joined Christina for
a game of ping-pong before she returned to work. After stalling
for another hour or so, I decided I should head to the bank.
Surprisingly, everything went well today, incredibly well. We
finished everything for the day before ten thirty, which is unheard of
(at least of recent). So, with the extra time I had been alotted,
I went and chatted with my friends in the mail room. The
conversation there turned geeky as well, though it ended up excluding
everyone but me and Kevin, who has decided to change servers
in order to play on World of Warcraft with me (apparently he knows no
one on his server). So, after having a good conversation with
them, I went home and managed to fix my Windows internet connection with some advice
from Jirah. So, currently I'm installing World of Warcraft on my
Windows login, and setting up my bookmarks, while having great fun
typing this out and linking everything. Hope my day didn't take
up too much of your time. Later.
